movie buff, Star Wars nerd, talks a lot

What do you do at Redwood?

Angharad Jones

Angharad Jones Content Development Director

Welsh, musical lover, dangerously competitive

What do you do at Redwood?
My role is a kind of creative/strategic hybrid role. I’m lucky – I get to work across the agency, with our brilliant planners, strategists and editors. I work on pitches and new briefs for our existing accounts, run workshops and training for clients and am never knowingly more than a foot away from a cup of black coffee.

What did you do before working at Redwood?
Like lots of our editorial team, I started out in consumer magazines. Interviewing (world’s strongest man and budgie-breeder) Geoff Capes for Esquire magazine and the subsequent two-parter article – How to pull a train and How to raise prize-winning budgerigars – still count as career highlights.

What do you do when you’re not working at Redwood?
Spend too much money of theatre tickets, eat out an irresponsible amount and attend weddings – seven and counting this year alone.

What are you proudest of from your time at Redwood?
Lots of contenders, but launching and running the successful Barclays on Mumsnet platform will always stand out. It was the first proper social media activity a high street bank had really done. Pretty nerve-wracking given public sentiment at the time, but ultimately absolutely brilliant.

One more thing… what book are you reading right now (be honest)?
What Happened by Hillary Rodham Clinton. It’s pretty slow going though, as I have to keep taking breaks to cheer up with a fortifying chapter of Jilly Cooper.

Derek Harbinson

Derek Harbinson Business Development Director

potter, musician, snappy dresser

What do you do at Redwood?
I’m the Business Development Director, which involves talking to prospective clients about how we can help them. I also operate as ‘pitch and travel dad/cat-herder in chief’, annoying everybody with deadlines, lists of stuff to remember to take with them and travel times that everyone thinks are far too early (to be clear, they’re not).

What did you do before working at Redwood?
After being a newspaper Reporter, I edited magazines including Loaded and Maxim. I also launched media platforms for brands – and immediately prior to joining Redwood I was Digital Media Director for McLaren’s F1 team

I make pots of varying quality, play guitar in several bands, do terrible woodwork, cook while listening to Spurs and watch telly with my wife, kids and our cockapoo Chilli (she loves Australian Masterchef)

Any time I get to watch the teams pitching (they really are awfully good at it)
